Sometimes the association is welcomed by some VIP, sometimes some VIP visit us in our premises.
Hugues Auffray, a well known and very popular singer in France, has been a member of our association for great many years : Hugues is found of these American vehicles. He comes regularly to visit us and did not miss the inauguration of our new premises in Satory.
David Douillet, two judo Olympic medals, Atlanta 1996 and 2000 Sidney, is also quadruple world champion and Europe champion. Now a congressman in the French assembly, he visited us in Satory to help find new premises for the long term future.
Henri Guaino, well known French politician, welcomes us in Le Chesnay, a high-end Paris suburb and a city he is the mayor. That was for the celebration of the famous “appeal of June 18”, the famous speech by Charles de Gaulle, the leader of the Free French Forces, in 1940. Jean-Paul Rouland, a popular and well known actor and TV show host, mayor deputy for cultural affairs, joined us and went in our Dodge WC58 “Command Car”.
François Barouin, senator, congressman and mayor of Troyes welcomed us for a big parade in town commemorating the Liberation of his city.
We did not hesitate to friendly put at work the congressman and mayor of Issy-les-Moulineaux André Santini on the diamond T 969A engine overhaul !
We have been welcomed as well by Edouard Balladur, mayor of Paris 15th district, or else have we been visited at the “Foire de Paris”, a very popular and extensive commercial show, by Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo. We are always glad to show the importance that there is to preserve our historical and technical heritage, spectacular support to our duty never to forget.
We are also regularly associated to TV productions of one sort or another, for example the famous French soap “Guignols de l’info” or a production of “RMC Decouvertes” about “oil and WWII”.
