75th commemorative ceremony of the 6th February 1944 in Wissous

Each year, the city of Wissous commemorates the crash on the 6th of February 1944 oft he B-17 bomber “Old Man” of the 447th Bombgroup of the 8th Air Force as it was hit by the Flak. For this occasion, UNIVEM came with the 3 Half-Track, 1 Dodge Command-Car and 4 Jeep.

Like last year, a service was held at the church, before a commemoration in the Arthur Clark Park with the Jeep and Dodge, and finally a coktail reception and a fanfare in the town hall.

Sadly, the weather was horrible as it rained all day long. The convoy came back in Versailles at noon to enjoy a nice meal cooked by Mireille.
