This year again, several members of UNIVEM went to Normandy to commemorate the 74th Anniversary of Normandy landings. Two Jeep and one Dodge of UNIVEM and three Jeep of members came for this event (the vehicles came by their own means by road!). Base camp was as usual at the Vierville-sur-mer castle, owned by the Hausermann family.
During the stay, several visit to historic places or museums were made: Longues-sur-Mer battery, Omaha Beach, exhibition of our vehicles in Arromanches, trades of Vierville and Sainte-Mère-Église, tank demo at the Overlord Museum, reenactment at the Crisbecq battery,…
This “small” Anniversary before the great festivities of the 75th Anniversary next year was once again a success for participants.
