Everything contributed to make that day a success for all. For its 9th “summer crossing of Paris”, the “Vincennes en Anciennes” association (https://www.vincennesenanciennes.com/) had organized a picnic on the terrace of Meudon that dominates the Paris area with a wonderful view. Three successive castles were built here (the remains of the latest, yet a work of famous architect Jules-Hardouin Mansart, have unfortunately been disfigured by a large astronomical dome).
The crowd that came could admire 400 vintage vehicles. Invited to participate, the UNIVEM had chosen to present a diorama on the theme of a campaign workshop. About forty members participated with fifteen vehicles, among them the Diamond T 969A, the GMC ST6 “workshop”, the GMC D1 “gasoline”, the half-track White M16 and the half-track IHC M5, but also an amlphibious GAZ MAV 46.
The people were interested, curious and came in numbers. That was a good showcase for our association and we could advertise for the upcoming Heritage Days.
